Ferraris to Steal the Spotlight at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction

The RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction, set to take place from August 15-17, 2024, during the prestigious Monterey Car Week, promises to be a showcase of some of the rarest and most sought-after Ferraris in the world. This annual event, now in its 27th year, has become synonymous with exceptional automotive offerings, and this year’s lineup is no exception.

Among the highlights is a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider by Scaglietti, estimated to fetch between $16 million and $18 million. Known for its striking design and racing pedigree, this model is one of the most coveted Ferraris ever built.

Another standout is the 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider by Scaglietti, with an estimated value between $9 million and $11 million. This rare piece of automotive history, with its stunning bodywork and racing heritage, is expected to draw significant attention from collectors.

The auction will also feature a diverse selection of Ferraris from different eras, including the 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Alloy by Scaglietti, estimated at $5 million to $7 million, and the 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari, projected to sell for between $3.6 million and $4 million.

For those interested in more modern offerings, the 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ and the 2023 Ferrari SF90 Spider ‘Atelier’ represent the pinnacle of Ferrari’s contemporary engineering and design, with estimates of $800,000 to $1 million and $750,000 to $950,000, respectively.

The auction will take place at the Monterey Conference Center, with a public preview running from August 14-17. Admission to the public preview is $60, though free for onsite bidders, consignors, and qualified media.

With a total of 47 Ferraris crossing the block, this year’s auction is set to be one of the most memorable in recent history, continuing RM Sotheby’s tradition of offering only the finest examples of the prancing horse to collectors worldwide.
